Slam Dunk Festival announce HUGE changes ahead of 2018 season

The UK’s biggest independent rock extravaganza Slam Dunk Festival has announced massive changes to its South site ahead of the 2018 festival season.

Slam Dunk South will now take place at Hatfield Park, having outgrown its former home on the University of Hertfordshire campus.

The venue is over double the size of its previous location – nestled in the grounds of Hatfield House and directly opposite the town’s train station.

Ben Ray, Slam Dunk Festival’s director, said: “Slam Dunk South has been taking place in Hatfield since 2010 so the town has truly become our home.

“Therefore, I am extremely happy we managed to find a new site still within the town – we are sad to leave the University however the event was selling out months in advance so we knew we had to move it and make it bigger due to demand from the fans.”

Next year, Slam Dunk Festival will begin its three-day journey in Leeds, Millennium Square, before travelling to the new location of Hatfield Park and finishing at the beloved Birmingham NEC.

The festival will take place on the 26th, 27th, and 28th of May at the three venues respectively, with over 60 artists performing across eight stages.

Slam Dunk will announce its first wave of 2018 artists on Wednesday, November 15 and tickets will be available from 9am this Friday at http://slamdunkmusic.com/.
