Jake Paul's team are insistent that his $500,000 name change bet with Tommy Fury will be at stake when they meet on December 18.
The 4-0 (3 KOs) YouTuber-turned-boxer will settle his feud with the 7-0 (4 KOs) younger brother of Tyson Fury next month in Tampa, Florida.
After Tyson's recent comments suggesting that Tommy would have to change his name if he lost to Jake, the YouTuber posted his wager on social media.
“You know me, I’m a betting man, I like to make bets," Jake said.
“So, I’m putting my money up right now. Tommy, if you beat me, I will give you an extra $500,000.
“However, if you lose, you have to change your name for one year to ‘Tommy Fumbles’.
“Deal or no deal? I’m putting the money up, are you confident? Sign, seal, deliver it.”
Tommy responded by accepting the bet and telling Jake to send over the contract.
“Do we have deal? Get that sent over to my lawyers, ASAP, right now," Tommy said.
“We’ll get that looked at and sorted because there’s not a chance in hell you’re winning this fight.
“You’re leaving on a stretcher, you’re getting knocked spark out. Get it over to me now.”
Now, their fight is officially signed, but Tommy's promoter Frank Warren has revealed that the name change bet is not in the finalised contract.
Despite this, Jake's team are adamant it will go ahead.
Jake's manager Nakisa Bidarian told talkSPORT.com: "Mr Paul contractually agreed to have his guaranteed purse reduced by $500,000 and paid to Mr Fury by Showtime within two business days of the fight should Jake lose.
"Quid pro quo, Mr Paul contractually required for Mr Fury to have $500,000 of his purse held back until Mr Fury legally became Mr Fumbles.
"Mr Fury was afforded 30 days to make the name change.
"Mr Fury did not agree and desired for the bet to be a handshake.
"This Saturday at the press conference, the handshake will seal the deal for the world to see. $500,000 or Mr Fumbles."
